City of Jerusalem Map Rug (0-3)

$220.00

Toddler families often visit or makes journeys and have special meals with friends. They understand this. They also understand walking and revel in the process of moving from one place to another. This rug dovetails with the cenacle lesson. It is best used as a work (not a circle rug) during Lent on through the first few Sundays following Easter. It is designed to encourage both nomenclature (colors, counting, locations) and process. Jesus went to the Temple first. Second he went to the Cenacle. Third he went to the Mt. of Olives. His friends took a nap.

Included with the rug are the buildings for the city, the cross, the trees, and the number cards.

Note: We found the cross and the paschal candle work best with this age since death not something they comprehend. The buildings are sized to a shape on the rug that is identically sized and colored. The colors are chosen to represent a later work or a national color or associated color (orange for the eucharist, red for Rome, blue for Jewish leaders, purple for royalty.
